AES Portlaoise Takes Delivery Of New Refuse Collection Vehicles

26 Oct 2010

In a further expansion of its refuse collection fleet, AES recently took delivery of three new vehicles that will be based in its Portlaoise depot. The vehicles are a significant investment by AES in their collection infrastructure and reflect a commitment of utilising the most modern and environmentally sound collection vehicles. The vehicles in question are “twin pack”, which allows for the collection of two different waste streams in one vehicle – minimising the kilometres travelled while maintaining the segregation of the waste collected. Speaking after the delivery of vehicles to site, Keith Brady, Logistics manager for AES commented “Our continued investment in new vehicles, coupled with the use of the most modern routing and capacity planning technology will help us to reduce our effect on the environment while improving service to our customers."

The vehicles will be used to service AES customers in Carlow and also in north Kildare
