AES is committed to the best practices of environmental management. We achieve this by continuously improving all aspects of our operations. This includes our waste recycling programmes, where we minimise the total amount of waste going to landfill and through encouraging positive environmental values in all of our employees.
AES regard environmental protection as an essential prerequisite of all our operations. We try to ensure that we fulfil our duty of care towards the environment by complying with various environmental and quality performance standards issued by government and regulatory bodies.
We have identified key aspects of our environmental performance through reference to the key performance indicators established by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government and the Environment Protection Agency’s plan for the waste management industry and our own internal environmental management systems.
We have implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS) Manual incorporating ISO 14001 and OHSAS 14001. The IMS tool provides assurance on the quality of data relating to service delivery, customer reports, schedules, service issue resolution and maintenance. It is also designed to ensure compliance with ISO 9001.
